Estimate your 2026 Nevada take-home pay from salary or hourly wages. Nevada has no state or local income tax, so this calculator focuses on what does come out: federal W-4 withholding, Social Security, Medicare and your pre-tax and post-tax deductions. It also handles overtime, including Nevada's daily overtime for workers under $18.00 an hour.
Example: $60,000 salary, paid biweekly, federal Single, no voluntary deductions. Use the calculator below for your own numbers.

2026 calculation methodology
Federal withholding uses the 2026 federal brackets and standard deduction for your Form W-4 filing status, with Step 2(c), Step 3 and Step 4 inputs. Nevada has no state or local income tax, so no Nevada amount is withheld. Social Security is 6.2% up to $184,500 and Medicare is 1.45%, plus 0.9% above $200,000. Employer-paid Nevada taxes, like unemployment insurance and the Modified Business Tax, never come out of your pay. See the worked example and test cases below.
What You Should Know About Nevada Paychecks
Nevada doesn't tax wages, and neither does any Nevada city or
county. The only taxes withheld from a Nevada paycheck are federal
income tax, Social Security and Medicare, so a $60,000 salary paid
biweekly keeps $1,938.07 of each $2,307.69 check.
Nevada's payroll taxes all fall on employers: unemployment insurance
on the first $43,700 of wages and the 1.17% Modified Business Tax.
Neither can be deducted from your pay.
The minimum wage is $12.00 an hour with no tip credit, and workers
under $18.00 an hour get daily overtime after 8 hours.

Keep the whole picture in mind: Nevada makes up some of the revenue with sales tax and taxes on businesses and tourism. If you live in Nevada but work in California, California still taxes those wages, so the savings only apply to work done in Nevada.
Nevada Daily Overtime: How It Changes Your Paycheck
Nevada is one of the few states with daily overtime. If you earn less than 1.5 times the minimum wage, under $18.00 an hour in 2026, you get time and a half for hours over 8 in any 24-hour period, not just over 40 in a week.

In the calculator, enter every overtime hour, daily and weekly, in the hourly overtime field. Take-home figures use federal Single and no other deductions.

How to Calculate Your Nevada Paycheck
A Nevada paycheck goes from gross pay to take-home pay in four
steps, and the last one is simple because there's no state tax.
1
Calculate gross pay
Divide salary by pay periods, or multiply the hourly rate by regular hours and add overtime at 1.5 times the rate. Count daily overtime after 8 hours if you earn under $18.00 an hour.
There's no Nevada state or local income tax, so subtract any post-tax deductions and you have your take-home pay.
Nevada Paycheck Worked Example: $60,000 Salary, Biweekly
Here's the paycheck at the top of this page run by hand: a $60,000 salary, federal Single, biweekly pay and no pre-tax deductions. Federal withholding follows IRS Publication 15-T for 2026.

Nevada Minimum Wage and Overtime in 2026
Nevada's minimum wage has been $12.00 an hour for all employers since July 1, 2024. There's no scheduled increase and no inflation indexing; it only rises if the federal minimum goes above $12.00.

Nevada Paycheck Tax Calculator: How Nevada Payroll Works
A Nevada paycheck calculator is really a federal
calculator with Nevada pay rules on top. Your stub should show
federal income tax, Social Security and Medicare, and nothing for
state withholding (SIT).
Our
pay stub abbreviations list
explains the codes you'll see.
Federal Withholding for Nevada Paychecks
Federal withholding uses your Form W-4 and the 2026 federal
brackets. The calculator supports filing status, Step 2(c), Step 3
credits and Step 4(a), 4(b) and 4(c). If you claim the new overtime
or tips deductions, our
W-4 Step 4(b) worksheet guide
shows how to enter them, and our
2026 federal tax withholding guide
covers the rest. For tipped casino and hospitality workers, the new
federal tips deduction can make a real difference.
Working Across State Lines
Many people near Lake Tahoe and in Laughlin and Mesquite cross state
lines for work. Nevada residents who work in
California,
Arizona
or Utah owe that state's tax on those wages. People who live in
another state and work in Nevada owe no Nevada tax, but their home
state usually taxes the wages.
Bonuses
Only federal taxes apply to Nevada bonuses. A bonus paid separately
usually gets a flat 22% federal withholding plus FICA. See
why bonuses are taxed so high.
Why Your Actual Nevada Paycheck May Differ
This calculator is a close estimate, not your employer's payroll
run. Your W-4 on file, benefit elections, overtime hours,
year-to-date wages and a 27th biweekly payday in some years can all
move the result a little.
Three-paycheck months
change monthly cash flow but not the tax on each check. For a full
checklist, see why your paycheck is lower than expected.
At year-end, our W-2 form generator
can use the same totals.
This page also works as a weekly, biweekly, semimonthly or monthly
Nevada payroll calculator. The annual salary stays
the same, but gross pay and withholding on each check change with
the number of pay periods. See our
pay period guide
for how the schedules differ.

Update log: September 25, 2026: rewrote this page. The old version listed the wrong minimum wage ($14 rising to $15 on September 30) and called unemployment insurance a "reemployment tax"; Nevada's minimum wage is $12.00 and its program is unemployment insurance. We moved the page to our current layout and added daily overtime, employer-paid Nevada taxes, a state comparison, a salary table, a worked example and the test cases above. We re-check this page whenever the IRS or Nevada agencies publish new figures, and at least once a year each January.

Nevada Paycheck Calculator FAQ
Does Nevada have a state income tax?
No. Nevada doesn't tax wages at the state level, and no Nevada city or county does either. The only taxes withheld from a Nevada paycheck are federal income tax, Social Security and Medicare.
How much tax is taken out of a Nevada paycheck?
On a $60,000 salary paid biweekly, filing single, $369.62 comes out of each $2,307.69 paycheck: $193.08 federal income tax, $143.08 Social Security and $33.46 Medicare. That leaves $1,938.07, or about 84% of gross pay.
What is Nevada's minimum wage in 2026?
$12.00 an hour for all employers, the same rate since July 1, 2024. There's no scheduled increase and no inflation indexing; it only rises if the federal minimum goes above $12.00. Nevada doesn't allow a tip credit, so tipped workers get the full $12.00 plus tips.
Does Nevada require daily overtime?
Yes, for lower-wage workers. Employees earning less than 1.5 times the minimum wage, which is under $18.00 an hour in 2026, must get time and a half for hours over 8 in a 24-hour period, as well as over 40 in a week. Employers and employees can agree in writing to a 4-day, 10-hour schedule without daily overtime.
Is there a Nevada tax on my paycheck for unemployment?
No. Nevada unemployment insurance is paid by employers on the first $43,700 of each worker's wages in 2026, plus a small Career Enhancement Program charge. Neither can be taken out of your pay.
What is the Nevada Modified Business Tax?
It's a payroll tax on employers, 1.17% of wages above $50,000 a quarter for most businesses. It never shows up as a deduction on your pay stub because employers can't deduct it from wages.
How are bonuses taxed in Nevada?
Only federal taxes apply. Bonuses paid separately usually get a flat 22% federal withholding, plus 6.2% Social Security and 1.45% Medicare. There's no Nevada withholding on bonuses.
Do I get paid leave in Nevada?
Employers with 50 or more employees must give 0.01923 hours of paid leave for each hour worked, about 40 hours a year for a full-time worker. It's paid by the employer; nothing is deducted from your check.
Are 401(k) contributions pre-tax in Nevada?
Yes, for federal income tax. A $150 biweekly 401(k) contribution on a $60,000 salary cuts federal withholding from $193.08 to $175.08. With no state tax, there's no state saving on top.
I live in Nevada but work in California. Which taxes apply?
California taxes wages for work done in California, so your employer withholds California tax even though you live in Nevada. Nevada has no income tax to credit it against. Work done in Nevada stays free of state income tax.
How do I calculate take-home pay in Nevada?
Start with gross pay, including any daily or weekly overtime. Subtract pre-tax deductions, then federal withholding from your W-4, 6.2% Social Security up to $184,500 and 1.45% Medicare. Subtract post-tax deductions to get take-home pay. There's no state step.

Disclaimer: Estimates are for educational use and aren't tax or legal advice. Actual payroll withholding depends on the employee's Form W-4, year-to-date wages, benefits, deductions and employer payroll system. For more Nevada payroll details, see our Nevada Payroll Guide.
